About the Group 

The Business Operations Services division manages critical processes and services, providing end-to-end support for shared services customers. The Business Operations Services division is a centralised hub of expertise and leverages shared platforms and standardised processes to deliver high performing services to government and customers.  

VicFleet is a business unit within the Business Operations Services division and provides whole of Victorian Government services to departments and agencies including: vehicle leasing; insurance; vehicle registration; fleet management; short term vehicle hire; and vehicle disposal. 

 

About the Role 

The Victorian Government is taking action to transition to net zero emissions by 2045, and this includes a suite of initiatives to facilitate fleet decarbonisation and optimisation in support of a centralised fleet management model which will underpin the transition of the government fleet to ZEVs. To deliver on these initiatives, VicFleet is seeking a Fleet and CarPool Assistant to support the day-to-day fleet operations and CarPool short-term vehicle booking services for a range of public sector employees, emergency surge capacity, Members of Parliament and executives. 

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Ensure vehicles are suitably presented and ready for daily bookings, including cleaning and maintaining vehicles to a high standard, and fuelled or fully charged.  

  • Provide customer centric fleet management services including assisting clients to use a range of vehicles and document any issues clients may have had with a vehicle. 

  • Support the full lifecycle of operational vehicles including commissioning, utilisation, preventative maintenance, repairs, insurance claims, fuel card / charge cards, registration, car washing and cleaning, end of life replacement, safety, compliance and roadworthy requirements.  

  • Support the Fleet Operations team as required using fleet related software. 

 

About You  

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience the following: 

  • Knowledge of or experience in a fleet operational setting.  

  • Ability to demonstrate ability to deliver excellent customer focused outcomes whilst balancing commitments to internal policies, business improvements and efficiencies. 

  • Ability to build relationships and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work productively, respectively and sensitively to a range of internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Well developed communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively and impart knowledge to a range of stakeholders. 

 

This role is an ongoing position and based in our Melbourne CBD office. This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.
