The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone’s experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.

About the Group

The Organisational Strategy, Governance and Performance group brings together leadership of customer, product and core corporate functions to define and shape DGS and our priorities.  

 

About the Role

As a Product Manager at DGS, you will help design and improve the reusable services that government regulators, agencies and departments use to enact legislation. These services provide capabilities like identity, payments, government navigators, and form submission.

This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity.  This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia. For more information, please see Position Description

 

Key Accountabilities

  1. Define and execute on the product strategy and roadmap, whilst ensuring it contributes to the overarching business strategy. Understand and follow current and emerging technologies relating to digital applications, and incorporate into product roadmap where appropriate
  2. Use data analysis and reporting to drive product decisions, stakeholder engagement and backlog prioritisation
  3. Experience in a digital business with a record of accomplishment in improving the Customer Experience

 

About You

Ability to deeply understand and champion the customer need, apply skills, knowledge and experience to deliver high impact products and services that address those needs.

Ability to use various communication media to convey information, ideas, and insights in engaging ways that maximises understanding of key messages.

Ability to drive a culture of value add and/or return of investment. Considers economic indicators to inform strategic direction and manage risk.
