As our Adviser, Graphic Design, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Victorians experience government — translating complex information into clear, accessible and engaging design. Key Accountabilities

  • Develop highly engaging and creative visual content for distribution across all DGS online and offline channels to support group priorities and major projects.
  • Leverage innovative and cost-effective approaches to produce customer-centric creative outcomes that comply with whole-of-Victorian Government and department branding, accessibility and inclusion requirements.
  • Contribute towards the creation of an exciting, engaging user experience for staff, customers and the community through the effective use of customer-focused design outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of best-practice design techniques, accessibility standards, and digital design principles.
  • Work both autonomously and collectively as part of the broader Communication team.
  • Practise cultural safety by helping to create environments, relationships and processes that people can feel safe, valued and able to participate.
  • Provide surge support for other priorities within the division where required.

 

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the development and delivery of highly engaging graphic design materials for a range of digital and print channels.
  • Extensive experience and highly proficient skills using Adobe Creative Cloud suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Good working knowledge and demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Canva, highly desirable.
