The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

The Digital and Government Services group
Digital and Government Services support the Minister for Government Services and help to set the strategic direction and reform agenda for government services across the Victorian Public Service.

Digital and Government Services provide whole of government policy leadership across digital services and transformation, technology, data, cybersecurity, telecommunications, identity policy, records management and shared services (such procurement, accommodation and common platforms).

The group engages with DGS’s customer departments and agencies, as well as other departments and agencies, to help shape the priorities of the department and deliver reform.

About the role
As a Cyber Program Coordinator, you will play a key role for the Cyber Security and Digital Resilience Division by helping to keep initiatives, programs and activities running smoothly. Working closely with program leads, you will provide coordination, administrative and delivery support that enables quality delivery.

You will contribute to a range of cyber security initiatives aligned to government priorities, assisting with governance, reporting, stakeholder coordination and day-to-day program activities. Your work will help ensure programs are well organised, well communicated and delivered on time.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is proactive, organised and people-centred, with experience supporting teams or projects in a coordination or administrative role. It offers strong on-the-job learning and development, with opportunities to build or deepen skills in program coordination and cyber security, including the chance to lead and learn on smaller programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support and enable the Cyber Security and Digital Resilience Division to deliver Department of Government Services priorities through program coordination and administration.
  • Continuously improve how the team delivers programs by reviewing processes, documentation and templates and identifying and actioning areas for opportunity and improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with a range of key stakeholders by promptly following through on inquiries, requests and complaints.
  • Maintain accurate and complete program templates, documents and records in accordance with legislative requirements and relevant records, information security and privacy policies.
  • Coordinate and support procurement activity ensuring it is completed in a timely manner and complies with procurement policies. 
  • Prepare briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language.
  • Actively build knowledge of cyber security risks, threats and controls through continuous learning.
  • Other duties as directed that are not listed in the position description, but which are consistent with a position of this grade and skills requirement.

This is a fixed term opportunity available until October 2027 (parental leave backfill). This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.
