About the Branch

The People Experience Branch partners with leaders across its customer departments to design and deliver contemporary people strategies, services and initiatives that build a capable, engaged and high-performing workforce.

About the Role

The position works in close partnership with Executive Leadership Teams to develop and implement people strategies aligned with the respective department's overarching strategic plan. As a senior leader, the incumbent is expected to collaborate extensively across the Corporate Shared Services Division, work closely with Centres of Excellence to develop fit-for-purpose solutions, and maintain a strong focus on delivering a strategic people agenda.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the team to effectively coach and support leaders in strengthening people management and change capability, while fostering self-service through VicGov People and VicGov Services to enhance both customer and employee experience.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of organisational change initiatives that promote a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement, incorporating best-practice change management and strategic workforce planning approaches to support departmental priorities.
  • Develop and lead continuous improvement projects and initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive, and safe workplace.
  • Apply in-depth HR expertise to drive department-wide people strategies within a shared services environment, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and mitigate industrial and safety risks.

About You

We are seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience from the following criteria:

 

  • Technical Expertise: Significant experience in the provision of high-level strategic and tactical consultancy, coaching and advice to leaders, managers and team members on a range of people matters, including the ability to diagnose branch/group development needs and develop a comprehensive plan that responds with targeted strategic and integrated initiatives.
  • Managing People: Role models ethical leadership through decision making and interactions with people; creates an organisational culture that enables others to perform at their best and achieve outcomes for the organisation; champions people engagement as an organisational priority; provides thought leadership on people management across the service.
  • Business and Commercial Acumen: Drives a culture of value add and/or return of investment. Considers economic indicators to inform strategic direction and manage organisational risk. Drive efficiencies in back office functions to better support the business.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identifies and manages a range of complex and often competing needs; facilitates innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.

 

Mandatory Experience

  • Extensive Human Resource Management expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience working in high pressure and fast paced environments with a focus on delivery.

This role is a 6 months fixed term position. This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.
