The People and Culture Branch provides HR advice and services to the Department of Government Services, customer departments and their portfolio agencies, to create a high performing workplace that puts people first. As part of the People Central team, this role oversees the functions of the system for EC and onboarding, ensuring workflows reach the correct delegate, information is maintained accurately and actions relating to information flowing across the system are processed in a timely manner.
About the Role
Reporting to the People Central Team Leader, the P&C Adviser is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and management of information in SAP SuccessFactors particularly in the Employee Central (EC) module and onboarding of new starters, ensuring all information is received to create a new employee profile.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure timely and accurate HR delegation, process and policy advice is provided to staff within the DGS cluster, using sound consultancy and negotiation skills to assist clients in clarifying needs, expectations and outcomes as well as providing advice in a timely manner. Ensure workflow management in SuccessFactors is in line with relevant departmental HR delegations.
- Provide advice and support on a broad range of HR system, position management and recruitment issues and practices, offering system solutions which are in line with organisational priorities and relevant government and department policy.
- Work with the People Central Service Delivery Manager and Team Leader to provide support and response to day-to-day HR questions and queries, using the Salesforce system to resolve tier 2 customer queries and tier 1 escalations.
- Support workforce planning and establishment management by maintaining and updating the organisational structure with SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central).
Key Selection Criteria
- Transactional Processing: exercises a high level of attention to detail when processing employee lifecycle changes, such as onboarding, transfers, and employee data changes, as well as the delivery of data entry and maintenance of organisational structure within the VicGov People system.
- Communication: strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders; ability to tailor communications according to the audience and/or audience preference with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at varying levels.
- Flexibility and adaptability: ability to take on a range of tasks and adjust approach and priorities to suit to changing requirements and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
