About the Role
As a Policy Officer in Regulatory Policy, you'll play a vital role in supporting the development and execution of legislative and regulatory reform within the Consumer Affairs and Local Government portfolios. Your work will include conducting comprehensive research and formulating advice to Ministers and DGS executives.
Key Accountabilities
- Undertake research and analytical work.
- Prepare accurate, concise, timely and relevant written communications including briefings, correspondence, submissions and reports for a range of audiences including Ministers and DGS Executives.
- Contribute to a supportive and high-performing team culture by assisting colleagues and managers and demonstrating your commitment to collaboration.
- Support the development of legislation and regulations.
About You
We are seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience from the following criteria:
- Policy Advice: experience in developing policy advice to Ministers and executives on complex and sensitive matters.
- Policy and Legislative Formulation: experience in formulating policy and/or legislative options and advice.
- Portfolio knowledge: knowledge of current policy direction, research and issues within the Consumer Affairs portfolio, or the ability to understand these issues quickly.
- Collaboration and Communication Skills: ability to work collaboratively, foster a positive work culture, build relationships, and communicate with influence through strong writing skills.
