About the Group

The purpose of this group is to make it easier for customers and businesses to engage with government. It is accountable for strategy and policy development, regulatory design, sector support and program design and the delivery of regulatory services to – and in the best interests of – Victorians. It aims to provide consistently great customer experiences in the delivery of scalable, efficient and effective services. Managing the delivery of services with a balance of expertise and speed, while driving the digital transformation of those services.  

About the Role

As a Program Officer, Portfolio Outcomes in the Group Strategy Projects team, you will support the monitoring, coordination and reporting of program and project activity across the Consumer Affairs and Local Government Group. You will play an important role in tracking progress against portfolio priorities, supporting the team to identify risks and issues as they emerge, and contributing to the preparation of timely and accurate reporting for senior management and key stakeholders.

Working under the direction of the Principal Advisor and Senior Policy Officers, you will assist in developing and maintaining tools and frameworks that support portfolio oversight and evidence-based decision making. You will contribute to financial and service data analysis, forecasting and trend monitoring activities, helping the team to stay across contemporary developments in consumer affairs and local government sectors.

You will support consultation and engagement activities across the branch, and assist in preparing briefings, communications and materials that convey portfolio progress and outcomes to a range of audiences. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Group and with external stakeholders to support the effective delivery of programs to time and budget.

You will be a developing professional with strong data analysis skills and an interest in program and portfolio management. You will bring attention to detail, an ability to manage competing priorities, and a curiosity about the policy areas that shape outcomes for consumers and local communities across Victoria. You will have a willingness to develop your skills in evidence-based practice, strategic reporting and stakeholder coordination in a dynamic, project-based environment.
