The Operations Group delivers frontline customer services to Victorians and the public service. It maintains the foundational digital infrastructure and platforms that support efficient, secure and reliable service delivery.  

About the Role 

The Senior Adviser, Workplace Relations and Integrity Services provides support across workplace relations, employee conduct, integrity services, and people risk management within the Victorian Public Service (VPS).  Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role partners with the HR Business Partnering team and senior stakeholders to resolve sensitive employee matters, interpret industrial instruments and legislation.  

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Provide timely expert advice and support on highly complex ER/IR and integrity issues including change management, to meet industrial and legal requirements. 

  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and effective communication of Workplace Relations and Corporate Integrity and Governance policies and frameworks, ensuring continuous improvement in line with organisational changes and legislative updates. 

  • Coordinates workplace investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and performance management processes, ensuring compliance with relevant industrial instruments, the Fair Work Act 2009 and current industry best practice. 

  • Manage the departmental review of actions process to effectively resolve issues raised by employees as a Review of Actions Registrar pursuant to the Review of Actions Regulations 2025. 

 

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience and ability to provide succinct and clear expert advice to stakeholders on a range of employment, change management or health and safety matters, using a range of strategies to engage and communicate 

 

You will also need to have experience in Employee/Industrial Relations and/or Human Resource Management  and demonstrated experience working in high pressure and fast paced environment with a focus on delivery 

 

  • Demonstrated ability to provide succinct and clear expert advice to stakeholders on a range of employment, change management or health and safety matters, using a range of strategies to engage and communicate.  

  • Resilience: Maintains composure and effectiveness when dealing with complex and sensitive matters; is decisive and provides recommendations to course of actions enabling teams to resolve challenging situations. 

  • Partnering and Co-creation: Builds and maintains partnerships to achieve objectives; coaches others on the co-creation process and builds team commitment to co-creation by demonstrating personal commitment; builds trust in partnerships through timely and quality delivery of outcomes; facilitates discussion and navigates differences of opinion to reach decisions. 

  • Managing Difficult Conversations: Seeks and evaluates options to resolve problems; negotiates agreed actions to deal with problems; coaches others in negotiation.
