The Operations Group delivers frontline customer services to Victorians and the public service. It maintains the foundational digital infrastructure and platforms that support efficient, secure and reliable service delivery.
About the Role
The Senior Finance Analyst position will provide support and advice to clients in their strategic and operational decision making and in the effective management of their budgets. Specifically, the role will develop and maintain budget and forecast models, provide monthly reporting and financial performance analysis, provide financial advice, monitor and analyse expenditure, manage accounts payables, receivables and undertake other financial analysis work as and when required.
Key Accountabilities
- Financial management & planning – Support budgets, forecasts, financial planning, analysis and financial oversight across multiple divisions.
- Financial reporting & analysis – Prepare management reporting and provide impartial analysis of financial performance, risks and opportunities using advanced Excel skills.
- Strategic financial advice – Provide strategic financial and budget management advice to senior managers to support informed decision-making.
- Financial expertise & complex accounting – Advise senior management on complex accounting policies, transactions, concepts and financial issues.
- Stakeholder engagement & collaboration – Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support consultation, collaboration and resolution of financial and operational issues.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following attributes:
- Management accounting experience including budget, forecast and monthly reporting and analysis.
- Advanced excel skills and experience using ERP solutions (preferably Oracle).
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
