About the Group
The Consumer Affairs and Local Government Group
The purpose of this group is to make it easier for customers and businesses to engage with government. It is accountable for strategy and policy development, regulatory design, sector support and program design and the delivery of regulatory services to – and in the best interests of – Victorians.
The Portfolio Strategy, Projects and Performance Division
The Portfolio Strategy, Projects and Performance division is a collaborative enabling division that supports CALG through the establishment of clear strategic direction, delivery of priority portfolio projects and delivery of whole-of-group data, governance, evaluation, project management and project delivery functions.
About the Role
We have an opportunity for two (two) Senior Policy Officer roles, where you will be a senior contributor to significant reform projects and strategic policy initiatives. These high-profile reform projects span several key areas, including housing and cost of living initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Advocates policy options
- Manages and leads complex projects
- Manages consultation processes including engagement with key stakeholders.
- Negotiates with stakeholders, peers, industry bodies and other government agencies with the objective of gaining co-operation, influencing views and meeting timelines for deliver
About You
We are seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience from the following criteria:
- Working Collaboratively: Guides others to create a culture of collaboration; Identifies, and works to overcome, barriers to knowledge or information sharing; Identifies opportunities to work with other teams to deliver outcomes.
- Promote Inclusion: Establishes a workforce that is diverse and takes advantage of relevant knowledge and skills; Creates opportunities to improve knowledge of teams in the area of diversity and inclusion.
- Policy Design and Development: Formulates and communicates public policy options and recommendations; Develops a clear narrative for the policies and business cases including clear problem definition and objectives; Considers impact of policy to strategic plans, community needs, complementing programs and policies across the service.
