About the role
*This is a Fixed Term Position until 4th March 2027*
The Business Services Lead manages a central team that supports day-to-day operations across the Barwon South West Grampians division. They oversee services like fleet, facilities, admin support, incident and legal requests, and coordinate briefings and correspondence. The role works closely with leaders, staff and key stakeholders, providing guidance and ensuring issues are resolved quickly. They lead improvements, support safety and wellbeing, and keep services running smoothly. Success in this role means a well-organised, responsive division that can focus on delivering better outcomes for the community.

You’re someone who:
- Enjoys leading people and building a positive team culture that supports wellbeing, inclusion and collaboration.
- Can break down complex problems and think big picture, using data and insights to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
- Makes sound, balanced decisions, considering different perspectives, risks and business needs.
- Understands how business services work (e.g. finance, procurement, HR, IT) and uses this to support effective operations.
- Communicates clearly and builds strong relationships, working with a range of stakeholders and managing issues with confidence and resilience.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Emergency management or safety experience. (desirable)
- General management experience. (desirable)
- Experience working in Governance related agencies. (desirable)
Other position-specific requirements
- Travel to Geelong and Ballarat may be required.
