Network Design and Integration (NDI) is a Group within the Department of Transport & Planning and is responsible for delivering transport priorities through the planning, development and maintenance of an integrated pipeline of projects and strategic initiatives that provide safe, efficient and sustainable outcomes to all Victorians.
About the role
The Reporting Officer plays an important role within Road Maintenance Operations, supporting the delivery of a large and complex road maintenance program covering both planned and routine works. The role focuses on providing accurate and timely reporting to ensure activities meet departmental policies and compliance requirements.
Working closely with the broader Maintenance team, the position helps ensure project progress and financial information are reliable and up to date. The role also contributes to improving how work is tracked, audited and reported by supporting the development of smarter processes and systems. Through collaboration and practical problem solving, the Reporting Officer helps strengthen reporting performance and drive greater efficiency across road maintenance programs.
What we’re looking for
This role requires sound foundational capability in problem solving, auditing and reporting. You will need to be capable of using established policies and processes to resolve issues, seeking guidance when required and contributing ideas that support better decision making. The position involves the ability to gather information and data to support auditing activities and using data to prepare clear reports, summary tables and dashboards.
Strong stakeholder awareness is important, with the ability to respond to client needs, provide updates and follow through on enquiries or issues in a timely manner. You will also demonstrate an understanding of knowledge management and business continuity, applying these principles in everyday work to ensure information is maintained, shared and accessible to support consistent and reliable operations.
On a personal level you will be collaborative and cooperative by nature whilst being resilient and thinking about outcomes.

Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
Engineer, project management, or similar
Desirable
Experience relevant to the accountabilities and capabilities of the role
