Network Operations is a Group within DTP, and is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of Victoria’s Transport Network. SprayLine Road Services (SRS) is a commercialised branch within the Network Operations Division of the Department of Transport and Planning providing road maintenance services, construction and associated civil works, bituminous spray sealing and line marking to DTP, other state road authorities, municipal councils, and private industry. SRS delivers services locally within the communities and is committed to ensuring quality, innovative and sustainable outcomes. SRS performs a key role as an internal provider to DTP, providing emergency response, maintaining organisational capability and supporting DTP in being an informed purchaser. We’re focused on outcomes that deliver more choice, connections and confidence in our travel, ensuring the whole transport network works as one to deliver better services and outcomes.
About the Role
*This is a Fixed Term Position until 31 December 2025*
This hands-on role involves working as part of a line marking and spray sealing crew, carrying out road maintenance tasks using specialised equipment under general supervision. Based primarily at the Samaria Road Depot in Benalla, the role requires flexibility to work overtime and travel across Victoria, with accommodation and allowances provided when working away from home.

Key Selection Criteria
The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a dedicated Road Worker – Line Marking to join the Surfacing Delivery team, based in Benalla. The role involves carrying out road maintenance, spray sealing, and line marking tasks using specialised equipment, while adhering to safety, environmental, and quality standards. Candidates must be flexible, able to travel across Victoria, and work overtime as required. Strong teamwork, sound judgement, and clear communication skills are essential.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Current Medium Rigid Truck Licence (Medium Rigid or higher)
- Current Construction Induction White Card
- Current Traffic Management Ticket
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Working knowledge of computer tablets / mobile devices
Desirable
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
- Understanding of Asset Maintenance Management Systems
- Chainsaw & Pole saw training
- Skid Steer training
