About the role 

This position will be based in Bendigo.

The Statutory Planner provides expert statutory and land use planning advice on matters affecting Victoria’s transport network. The role applies key Victorian legislation and the Victorian Planning System to assess planning applications, referrals, transport impact assessments, planning scheme amendments and other development proposals. 

 

The position works with councils, government agencies, internal specialists and other stakeholders to ensure transport impacts are appropriately managed. Key responsibilities include providing clear advice, negotiating solutions, addressing road safety and traffic management issues, meeting statutory timeframes, preparing briefings and contributing to planning policies, guidelines and improvement projects.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A tertiary qualification relevant to Statutory Planning or Traffic and Transport Engineering, and/or relevant working experience. (mandatory)
  • An understanding of traffic and transport engineering principles, with the ability to review Transport Impact Assessment Reports and experience relevant to the role, including growth area planning.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake occasional travel to regional and rural Victoria.
