About the role

This is an Ongoing fulltime position based in Bendigo (Lyttleton Tce)

This role leads a team of planners and provides expert advice on how developments affect the transport network. They assess planning applications, major projects and policy changes and ensure decisions support safe and efficient roads. The role works closely with councils, government agencies and stakeholders and supports senior leaders in hearings and appeals. It also manages team performance, resources and timelines. Success means strong planning decisions, well-managed development, improved safety and transport outcomes and effective collaboration across teams and partners.

Qualifications and experience

Mandatory

  • Tertiary qualification relevant to Statutory Planning and/or extensive relevant experience.

Desirable

  • Understanding of Engineering principles and ability to interrogate Traffic Impact Assessments.
  • Experience relevant to the accountabilities and capabilities of the role.
  • Experience in growth area planning.

Other position-specific requirements

  • Driver’s license
  • Occasional travel to regional and rural parts of the state
