About the role
The Senior Road Safety and Transport Engineer provide specialist road safety and traffic engineering expertise to support the safe and efficient movement of people and goods across regional Victoria. The role works closely with internal teams, councils, and other stakeholders to investigate road safety issues, respond to transport challenges, and develop practical solutions that improve network performance and safety.
The role delivers expert advice on road safety, traffic management, and transport projects, including investigating fatal crashes using Safe System principles. It supports the development of safety treatments, influences transport outcomes through design reviews and business cases, and uses data and stakeholder insights to identify emerging issues, improve decision-making, and drive innovative road safety solutions.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- A bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in a relevant engineering discipline, with experience aligned to the requirements of the role (mandatory).
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related discipline, along with knowledge of road safety accreditation and Safe System principles.
- A current driver’s licence.
