About the role 
The Senior Contract and Commercial Officer manages regional and school bus contracts, and one ferry contract, across the Barwon South West region. The role ensures operators meet contract requirements, performance targets and service standards while building strong relationships with transport operators and stakeholders. It also provides commercial advice, manages contract risks and supports safe, reliable and value-for-money public transport services.

Key responsibilities include contract and supplier performance management, stakeholder engagement, commercial advice, operational support during disruptions, and identifying opportunities to improve services, customer outcomes and continuous improvement across Victoria's regional public transport network.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

• A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience in a relevant field (Mandatory).
• Experience working in complex operational and/or project environments.
• Practical knowledge of the Victorian bus industry and an understanding of supplier capabilities to meet performance requirements.
