About the role

This position is located in our Geelong Office or Ballarat Office (flexibility may be available) 


This role provides expert planning advice on complex land use and development proposals that affect Victoria’s transport network. It assesses major planning applications, scheme amendments and projects, and works closely with government agencies, specialists and stakeholders to ensure transport needs are properly considered. The role also represents the department in hearings and supports senior leaders with advice and reports. It guides junior staff and helps maintain high standards of work. Success in this role ensures planning decisions support a safe, efficient transport network and well-coordinated development across Victoria.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring:

 

  • Qualification Degree in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or equivalent (mandatory)
  • Desirable candidate will have a minimum of eight years’ experience in statutory and/or strategic planning. 

 

Other position-specific requirements  

  • Drivers license (without any restriction which preclude the incumbent from performing the inherent requirements of the position and which cannot be reasonably accommodated by the Department) (mandatory)  
  • Drive a vehicle
