Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

About the opportunity
We’re seeking a proactive and collaborative Adviser, Urban Design to join the Suburban Rail Loop Authority. As part of a team, you will provide urban design services to support the delivery of the SRL rail and infrastructure project, and contribute to ensuring deliverable plans and strategies are in place to shape and manage precinct change enabled by the SRL transport project. Working at a neighbourhood planning scale through to components of the transport project, to ensure the overall project achieves high quality design outcomes at every scale.
As an Adviser, Urban Design your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the development and review of urban design documentation, studies, strategies, processes and policy across the program to support high-quality and integrated urban design outcomes in the SRL projects, with particular focus on SRL East priorities.
- Undertake research, analysis and benchmarking to support the SRL program in the use of best practice urban design methods and techniques.
- Effectively manage the delivery of priority urban design tasks and deliverables to achieve high quality outputs, best value, and deliverables within required project timeframes.
- Develop high-quality communication and graphic collateral that is effective and engaging in the communication of ideas and concepts, and suitable for the intended audience, role and purpose.
- Develop and maintain highly effective and productive working relationships including fostering collaborative relationships across the Authority and engaging with community and stakeholders to inform and support the urban design work program and aspirations.
