People, Legal & Governance is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning and is responsible for providing business-enabling people and corporate services functions to drive a high-performance culture and to support integrated operations.
About the Role
The Systems Support Advisor enables the Ministerial and Government Services group deliver services to the Secretary and Ministers by ensuring its business applications function appropriately and that end users have the knowledge and ability to use them effectively.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
- Ensuring SharePoint based business applications owned by Ministerial and Government Services operate effectively and remain fit-for-purpose by monitoring and evaluating business application performance and functionality and implementing agreed system changes when necessary.
- Provide user support for business applications owned by Ministerial and Government Services to optimise quality and timeliness of services to the Secretary and Ministers.
- Deliver training programs relevant to eBriefings and, as needed, other business applications owned by Ministerial and Government Services
- Maintain effective partnerships across the department and its agencies to advocate proper use of business applications to facilitate business improvement and business continuity.
- Manage and coordinate the response to system issues which are impacting end users, including liaison with senior stakeholders, Enterprise Technology and technical support partners on the current performance and support arrangements for existing systems.
- Provide a range of administrative support to the team and business area more broadly including system searches and reporting as required.
- Identifying opportunities for cost-effective improvements to business applications through participation in relevant communities of practice and collaboration with other VicGov departments
- Provide support across the Governance & Portfolio Services Division as required
- In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities

Their interpersonal skills and customer focus ensure responsive, tailored service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with SharePoint and the Microsoft Office suite
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of government services, processes, and systems.
