Investment and Technology leads and manages the investment lifecycle; drives commercial advice & negotiations to facilitate reform; and enables core delivery through Finance, Procurement & Enterprise Technology.
Commercial Advisory is a Division within Investment and Technology, and works to plan for, design and lead major commercial transactions and deliver commercial and contract management services delivering innovative and value for money outcomes.
About the role
**This is a 3 year Fixed Term role**
The Asset Analyst provides expert analysis and advice to support the management, optimisation, and strategic planning of transport assets. This role focuses on asset condition reporting, solution design, and long-term planning for fleets, depots, and infrastructure—particularly supporting the transition to zero-emission buses (ZEBs). The position contributes to Asset and Transition Plans to ensure assets remain safe, reliable, sustainable, and aligned with organisational goals.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, sound business and commercial acumen, and the ability to communicate and influence effectively. They will demonstrate technical expertise in asset management, apply strategic planning principles, and use analytical insights to optimise asset performance. Collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills are essential to deliver sustainable and integrated asset outcomes.

Position accountabilities
- Undertake asset condition reporting, analysis, and forecasting to support investment decisions and lifecycle planning
- Provide specialist input into fleet, depot, and infrastructure solutions, with a focus on zero-emission bus (ZEB) transition and readiness.
- Develop and contribute to Asset Management Plans (AMPs) and Transition Plans (TMPs) to ensure assets are reliable, efficient, and sustainable.
- Identify and assess risks, opportunities, and performance trends to inform evidence-based decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams, operators, and stakeholders to ensure asset strategies align with operational, financial, and sustainability objectives.
Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
- Proven experience in asset analysis, reporting, and lifecycle planning within transport or large infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of Asset Management Plans (AMPs), Transition/Maintenance Plans (TMPs), and asset performance frameworks.
- Tertiary qualification or experience in asset management, engineering, or transport planning, with exposure to zero-emission fleet transitions and supporting infrastructure.
