Title: Asset Information Engineer
About the role
This opportunity is Fixed Term until 30 June 2026
The Asset Information Engineer manages the day-to-day oversight and reporting of asset data within the Department of Transport and Planning asset information systems. It supports leadership by providing specialist guidance on asset information quality, standards, and management to enable project delivery and operational readiness. The role develops and maintains asset information documents, specifications, and frameworks across the project lifecycle. It works closely with internal teams and partners including Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority and Rail Projects Victoria. Responsibilities include maintaining Asset Information Requirements, validating asset data, supporting digital engineering frameworks, preparing scopes and cost estimates, and strengthening stakeholder capability and collaboration.

Technical capabilities
- Information Management (IRMG) (Level 6)
- Leads and plans activities to communicate and implement information management strategies and policies.
- Develops organisational policies, standards and guidelines for information management.
- Ensures the information required to support the organisation is defined. Creates information management processes.
- Coordinates internal and externally sourced information resources to meet specific business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor (or higher) qualification in areas related to Engineering, Information Technology or Asset Management and/or equivalent relevant experience. (Mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience working in an asset management role. (Mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of asset management systems. (Mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience or qualification in the application of ISO 55001 and/or ISO 19650 Standards and Procedures. (Desirable)
