About the role
This is a three year Fixed Term Position
The Assistant Bus Planner supports the planning and development of Victoria’s future bus network, with a focus on integrated land use and transport planning. The role contributes to user-focused network design and reform aligned with Victoria’s Bus Plan and broader government policy.
The role provides analysis and advice, supports stakeholder engagement and prepares reports, briefings, correspondence and presentations. It works collaboratively across government and agencies to identify trends, opportunities and transport issues, while supporting senior planners and leaders to progress ongoing improvements to Victoria’s bus network.

- Communicates clearly and effectively, adapting messages to different audiences and preparing concise, accurate written advice and documentation.
- Builds positive stakeholder relationships by responding to needs, keeping stakeholders informed and taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Works collaboratively and flexibly, sharing information, supporting colleagues and adapting quickly to changing priorities and cross-organisational requirements.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- A relevant tertiary degree or experience particularly in transport or land use planning (desirable)

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
Recipients of Victorian Public Service (VPS) voluntary departure packages should note that re-employment restrictions apply.
