Title: Associate Director, Tram Projects
About the role
The Associate Director, Tram Projects leads the development and delivery of tram infrastructure and capital works programs, ensuring projects are delivered to scope, time, and budget following funding approval.
The role manages a team of project managers and is responsible for overseeing both franchisee-led and State-led projects, while providing authoritative commercial, contractual, and strategic advice to support transport portfolio objectives.
It plays a key role in risk management, stakeholder engagement, and high-level negotiation with internal and external partners, including Local Government and franchise operators, to ensure successful project outcomes.
The position also ensures compliance with governance frameworks, effective resource and budget management, and strong people leadership, fostering a high-performing, safe, and inclusive team culture that supports the delivery of a reliable and high-quality public transport system.
