About the role 


This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2029


The Road Safety Benefit Management Analyst supports the development of Victoria’s Road Safety Strategy and Action Plans by modelling and analysing the benefits of road safety initiatives. The role uses data, research and forecasting to assess the effectiveness of interventions and inform future investment decisions.

The position develops benefit management plans, provides evidence-based advice, prepares reports and insights for stakeholders, and supports road safety investment planning. It builds strong partnerships, applies predictive modelling expertise and drives continuous improvement to achieve better road safety outcomes.

You’re someone who: 

  • Applies critical thinking and systems thinking to analyse complex issues, identify opportunities and deliver evidence-based solutions.
  • Uses data modelling and geospatial analysis expertise to generate insights, inform strategic decisions and support investment priorities.
  • Focuses on outcomes by assessing impacts, monitoring benefits and ensuring work delivers meaningful community value.
  • Drives innovation and continuous improvement by identifying better ways of working and applying new approaches.
  • Integrates complex datasets and analysis to support effective policy, planning and decision-making.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • Extensive experience undertaking predictive modelling and forecasting (mandatory)
  • Relevant experience to the role (mandatory)
  • Knowledge and experience in road safety and the safe system approach (desirable)
