About the Role
This role supports the Asset Management Lead and wider team with assurance of bus operators’ implementation of Asset Management Plans, Technical Maintenance Plans, lifecycle replacement and refurbishment programs to ensure asset sustainment and optimal network performance. The role also supports regular reviews and performance monitoring of bus assets, ensuring contractual compliance, setting key performance metrics and assurance against industry best practices. This role assists in representing Bus Services as a technical lead in transitioning the Victorian bus industry to Zero Emission fleet and technologies. Working as part of the Bus Asset Performance team, the role assists in providing subject matter expertise in asset management analysis, principles and technology to ensure industry readiness and transition to a Zero Emission operating environment. The role operates in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ideal candidate to be agile and support making informed decisions in a high-volume setting.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
- Ministerial Correspondence and briefings – provides timely and high-quality responses to Ministerial correspondence and queries, assists with preparation of Ministerial and Organisational Briefs.
- Franchisee Contractual Compliance – supports coordination and supports the Senior Contract Officers/Contract and Commercial Analyst with performance analysis and assessments. Supports the development of meeting materials including presentations, agenda and minutes.
- Stakeholder Management – engages and works collaboratively with key subject matter experts, DTP staff and external stakeholders to support contract management initiatives, ZEB implementation and identify and mitigate operational and contractual risks.
- Communications – supports the Asset Management Lead and broader team in preparing high quality commercial analysis, advise on contractual issues and mechanisms to manage risk including preparation of internal and external correspondence.
- Continuous Improvement Supporting the continuous improvement approach with custodial operators in the performance and condition of fleet, relevant infrastructure, and facilities as measured by metrics including but not limited to reliability and availability.
- Analysing assists in trend analysis reporting relating to rolling stock and facilities asset performance, informing stakeholders of any adverse trends and raising these items in the appropriate forums with key stakeholders.
- Technical supports reviews of technical content of Asset Management Plans, Technical Maintenance Plans, monitor maintenance and refurbishment programs, obsolescence management, defect management and rectification, third party damage and associated repairs.
- Supports operational and Asset Management integration of the ZEBs onto the Victorian Bus network.
- Manage and Maintain Contract Deliverables Supports contractual matters with the current bus services contracts that relate to the introduction of ZEBs and assess impact on existing contract obligations.
- Strategic Thinking Supports the development of strategic policy and commercial advice to the Associate Director, Bus Asset Performance, for ZEB fleet, services, infrastructure, contracts, and opportunities, with a focus on innovations, reforms, and application of technology and emerging commercial operating models in transport services delivery

Qualifications and Experience
Desirable
- A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, asset management or other related technical field
- Proven experience in maintenance and operations in bus industry
- Knowledge of Risk Management and Safety Management practices
Role Specific Requirements
- A valid driver’s licence is desirable
- This role may occasionally be required to work out of hours
