About the Role
Job Location: 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
This role manages and keeps up to date the digital map of Victoria’s bus network. You will maintain accurate information on bus stops, routes, paths and timetables, ensuring it is consistent across systems, websites, apps and signage. You will work closely with internal teams, bus operators and external partners to gather and update data, and plan for upcoming network changes. You will also manage how data is shared across systems. Success in this role ensures customers and the transport industry can rely on clear, accurate and consistent public transport information.

You’re someone who:
- Enjoys working with data, maps and solving problems to support decisions
- Can plan and prioritise tasks, manage your work effectively and keep accurate records
- Has strong data skills, including analysing data, creating visualisations and using advanced Excel
- Can adapt to changing priorities and work well with different teams and stakeholders
- Can communicate clearly, collaborate effectively and deliver insights, reports and spatial outputs that support decision-making

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Qualification in, Data Management and/or Spatial Sciences or GIS
- Knowledge of the Victorian public transport network including routes, approximate spans and frequencies.
- Understanding of bus operations and how bus timetable, geospatial and scheduling data reflect bus operations.
- Understanding of coordinate systems, GPS and data collection processes.
- Experience and expertise in the use of data manipulation software eg FME or scripting in SQL would be desirable.
