About the role

The Business Intelligence Analyst develops, maintains, and supports business intelligence tools, including Power BI reports, to provide accurate data and meaningful insights that support project and portfolio decision-making. Working closely with the PMO and stakeholders across the department, the role uses data from project management systems and other sources to improve reporting, information sharing, and project delivery outcomes. The position creates high-quality reports and analysis, identifies trends in project performance, and helps ensure data accuracy and quality. It also provides guidance on the use of Power BI, collaborates with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, and supports continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting processes and project information management.

· Uses critical thinking to analyse issues, identify solutions, and make informed decisions using available information and guidance.

· Works confidently with data, using tools such as Excel and Power BI to analyse information, identify trends, and support decision-making.

· Looks for opportunities to improve processes, maintain high-quality work, and deliver results even under tight deadlines.

· Builds positive relationships by understanding stakeholder needs, listening actively, and adapting communication styles to different audiences.

· Communicates clearly and effectively, presenting information in a logical and audience-focused way.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring:

· Demonstrated experience using Power BI, including DAX, to develop reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.

· Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with experience analysing data and delivering reporting insights that support business outcomes.

· Experience with Microsoft Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports) would be highly regarded.
