About the role

This is a Fixed term until 30/6/27

The Business Services Manager is responsible for managing a broad range corporate activities and obligations such as records and document management, business systems, reporting, risk management, business planning and financial management and monitoring, business continuity, planning and coordinating Ministerial correspondence for their division.

 Position accountabilities

DTP is seeking an experienced professional to lead corporate functions within the Spatial Planning division, ensuring the effective management of budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, records, and occupational health and safety compliance. In this role, you will manage and enhance business systems, processes, and procedures, driving continuous improvement and innovation to increase efficiency and productivity across the division’s shared business service function.

You will provide governance and compliance oversight, ensuring adherence to corporate and legislative regulations, and contribute to policy and strategy development while supporting corporate projects. The role includes preparing comprehensive reports, briefs, and correspondence to facilitate clear communication with internal and external stakeholders. You will also develop and implement service delivery frameworks and performance measures to ensure customer-focused and business-oriented outcomes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic thinking, and collaborative skills, with experience in corporate management, systems improvement, and governance. You will actively contribute to the broader division, representing the team in internal and external forums, sharing expertise, and fostering collaboration. This position offers the opportunity to drive effective business operations and contribute to the delivery of Victoria’s spatial planning objectives.
 

Qualifications and experience

 – A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, business administration or a related field would be an advantage. 

– Previous experience in a business, governance or corporate services role working with senior executives.
