About the role 

The Business Support Officer provides administrative, document control and information management support to the Metro Tunnel contract management team and wider Heavy Rail division. The role coordinates contract correspondence, governance activities, meetings and document reviews, while maintaining accurate and auditable records and information registers.

 

The role supports effective contract management by maintaining systems such as TeamBinder and SharePoint, coordinating document reviews, developing work instructions and guidance, and ensuring contractual timelines are met. Strong communication, technology skills and an outcomes-focused approach are essential to working with stakeholders and maintaining efficient, consistent and effective governance processes.

You’re someone who: 

  • Plans and prioritises day-to-day work in line with organisational strategy, linking objectives to practical actions and outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, tailoring information and presentations to suit different audiences.
  • Understands business processes and policies, identifying gaps or conflicts that may affect effective team operations.
  • Uses digital and information management tools effectively and supports others to adopt technology that improves daily operations.
  • Works collaboratively and takes ownership of delivering quality outcomes, understanding how their work contributes to broader organisational objectives.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • Experience providing administrative or project support in a complex environment (mandatory).
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities (mandatory).
  • Experience in transport, infrastructure or government environments, familiarity with document management systems, and exposure to project coordination or governance processes.
