The Planning and Land Services Group is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning and is responsible for supporting the delivery of services and infrastructure that will help build thriving environments and communities across our state.

Land Use Victoria is responsible for providing whole of Victorian Government leadership on land information, policy, assessment, and advice, to enable government to use its land more strategically and maximise public value.  It is also responsible for managing the government's program for land administration and property information by providing innovative solutions for authoritative, comprehensive, and easily accessible services in land registration, property information, valuation, land surveying and geographic naming and land data management services. It performs a range of statutory and non-statutory functions.  LUV also provides surveying services for major government infrastructure projects, provides all government property valuations and is responsible for all council valuations.

LRS is a large operational business engaged in the processing of land transactions.  It includes several operational and support branches tasked with delivering functions under the Transfer of Land Act 1958, the Subdivision Act 1988 and a range of associated legislation. LRS also provides title search and property certificate services, delivered through a private provider, Secure Electronic Registries Pty Ltd (SERV) who also provide administrative services to support the registration over 850,000 property transactions, 2.4 million title searches and 1.5 million other property information services per annum. LRS is also responsible for registering 8,000 plans of subdivision per annum.

About the Role

There are two positions available.

The Business Support Officer role is to provide customer services and other duties to support the registration of land and plan transactions.

Position Outcomes

The role involves delivering high-level customer service to LRS clients through a customer service management system, efficiently managing enquiries and providing accurate advice on LRS services, products, and processes. It requires a keen interest in land administration, including understanding relevant legislation and registry system functions. The position includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of lodging procedures, assessing and processing lodgements, and consulting on complex cases. The role supports digital transformation projects led by LRS and Land Use Victoria, while also requiring adaptability within a dynamic team environment. Additionally, the role entails contributing across various LRS functions and fostering culturally safe, inclusive, and discrimination-free environments.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong teamwork and adaptability by collaborating effectively with others, sharing information, supporting team goals, and responding comfortably to changing priorities and cross-organisational collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

·       Experience in basic desktop support including troubleshooting software/system issues, and an aptitude for understanding general IT concepts.

Desirable

·       Knowledge of subdivision and planning processes in Victoria, together with other land administration concepts and legislation would be an advantage.
