About the role
This is a fixed term role till October 2026. The Business Support Officer role provides essential day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Resilience and Emergency Coordination (REC) Branch’s ongoing and project work programs. It is responsible for maintaining program registers, preparing weekly and monthly reports, managing document control, invoicing and receipting, and coordinating meetings. The position also plays a key role in prioritising and responding to incoming issues, ensuring smooth business operations across the branch.

Position accountabilities

      • Coordinate monthly project, programme and financial reporting to the REC Branch leadership team and internal stakeholders.
      • Provide successful outcomes with internal and external stakeholders in relation to programme administration policies and procedures.
      • Exercise professional judgement to ensure effective communication to stakeholders both internally and externally.
      • Exercise independent judgement to provide diary management, arrange meetings, workshops and travel including organising venues and catering.


Key Selection Criteria

Success in this role requires strong professional judgement and to independently manage complex administrative processes in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of confidentiality, integrity, and performance. The role demands excellent organisational and written communication skills to coordinate office operations, manage information flow, and ensure accurate, timely follow-up of corporate activities in line with policy and protocol.
