Title: CAD Lead
About the role
This opportunity is Fixed Term until 30 June 2026
The CAD Lead provides leadership and specialist guidance on CAD standards, quality, and coordination across the Department of Transport and Planning and delivery partners. The role ensures consistent creation, management, and integration of design information to support project delivery and operational readiness. It develops and maintains CAD standards, templates, and procedures aligned with digital engineering and asset information requirements. Working closely with partners including VIDA and Rail Projects Victoria, the role supports compliant CAD outcomes, provides technical expertise, validates deliverables, contributes to procurement planning, and strengthens capability and consistency across projects and stakeholders.

Technical capabilities
- Information Management (IRMG) (Level 6)
- Leads and plans activities to communicate and implement information management strategies and policies.
- Develops organisational policies, standards and guidelines for information management.
- Ensures the information required to support the organisation is defined. Creates information management processes.
- Coordinates internal and externally sourced information resources to meet specific business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor (or higher) qualification in areas related to Engineering, Information Technology or Asset Management and/or equivalent relevant experience. (Mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience working in an asset management role. (Mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of asset management systems. (Mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience or qualification in the application of ISO 55001 and/or ISO 19650 Standards and Procedures. (Desirable)
