About the role
*This is a Fixed Term Position (Executive Contract up to 5 years)*
The Chief Procurement Officer leads the department’s procurement function and a high-performing team, ensuring goods and services are purchased effectively and in line with policy and legal requirements. They advise senior leaders, support teams across the department, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role also represents the department in whole-of-government forums and drives social procurement outcomes. Success means strong governance, improved capability across the organisation, and delivering value for money while maintaining compliance and accreditation.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics or related commercial discipline.
- A proven record of leading a procurement function in a large complex organisation.
- A strong understanding of best practice procurement frameworks and the Financial Management Act.
Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
