The Opportunity

As the Commercial Manager, you will provide expert commercial leadership across VIDA Health’s portfolio of complex, high-value health infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Director, Commercial, you will lead procurement, contract management, claims and dispute resolution activities, while shaping commercial strategies that support successful project delivery and value-for-money outcomes. Working closely with multidisciplinary project teams and key stakeholders, you will provide authoritative, evidence-based advice to inform senior decision-making, manage commercial and contractual risk, lead complex negotiations, and ensure all commercial activities align with government policy, probity requirements and VIDA Health’s strategic objectives. This role is ideally suited to a commercially astute professional with experience in contractor, consulting or private sector infrastructure environments who thrives in complex delivery settings and is motivated by contributing to projects of significant public value.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Providing commercial advice across procurement, contracts, insurance, and claims management.
  • Leading procurement and contract strategies, including tenders, evaluations, and negotiations.
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities across the program.
  • Managing variations, claims, delays, and other contractual adjustments.
  • Overseeing supplier performance and contractual compliance.
  • Supporting governance and executive decision-making through high-quality briefings.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative, policy, and probity requirements.

We are looking for:

  • Extensive commercial experience in major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement frameworks and contract models (PPP, ECI, Alliance).
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, claims management, and risk mitigation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced environments.
