About the role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2028
The Custodian Engagement Lead supports the Vicmap Transformation Program by building stakeholder support for lasting changes to how Victoria’s spatial data is supplied. The role works closely with local councils and government agencies to negotiate updated agreements, capture requirements and maintain strong relationships throughout the program.
The role leads stakeholder engagement, agreement development, communications, training and onboarding to support a smooth transition. It also strengthens knowledge management by documenting data standards, business rules and custodian responsibilities, helping ensure the program’s benefits continue into ongoing operations. The role promotes a safe, inclusive and respectful working environment.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, including building trust and securing buy-in from senior and operational stakeholders (mandatory).
- Relevant tertiary and/or industry qualifications with 3–5 years’ experience, and knowledge of spatial data, custodianship, government data supply and licensing frameworks.
- Experience in transformation or program delivery, with strong written communication, knowledge management and documentation skills, and an understanding of change management and supporting stakeholders through transition.
