About the role
This is a two-year Fixed Term Graduate position.
As a Graduate Planner, you'll support statutory and strategic planning policy and projects that help shape how Victoria grows, working across the Victoria Planning Provisions and other planning mechanisms. You'll research, analyse and help draft planning documents, reports and briefings, working alongside a collaborative team in our State Planning Policy and Reform Division. You'll also get exposure to stakeholder engagement, including working respectfully with Traditional Owners and First Peoples. It's a great way to build a foundation in Victoria's planning system from the ground up.

What we're looking for?
You're someone who:
- Communicates clearly, adapting technical planning concepts for different audiences
- Enjoys problem-solving and applying planning principles to real work
- Is proactive, organised and detail-focused
- Works well in a team and pitches in where needed
- Is curious about statutory and strategic planning, and keen to build a career in it
Qualifications and experience
- A relevant qualification in urban planning (or currently working towards one)- mandatory
- Awareness of the Victoria Planning Provisions and the Planning and Environment Act 1987 - desirable
- A genuine interest in statutory and strategic planning - desirable
Who can apply?
- Graduated, or be due to graduate, from an Australian or New Zealand University between 1 December 2024 and 31 January 2027.
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with full working rights for the required period.
