About the Role

Based in the Transport Insights team, this role supports Network Operations by turning safety data such as public transport incidents, employee reports, and road fatality statistics into clear insights. The position develops Power BI reports and analytical findings to help teams quickly understand trends and make safety improvements. It works closely with internal stakeholders, providing data and insights that directly contribute to safer outcomes for customers and staff. The role also manages source data, responds to reporting requests, and may take on other duties aligned with skills and classification.

 

What we’re looking for (Selection Criteria) 

You are someone who:

  • Enjoys turning complex data into clear insights and visual reports.
  • Can develop dashboards and visualisations using tools like Power BI.
  • Has experience analysing large or complex datasets using Excel, SQL Server, Databricks, or similar tools.
  • Can work independently, make sound judgements, and manage complex requests.
  • Has technical skills including advanced Excel, MS Access, SQL expertise, and Power BI proficiency.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring:

  • Experience using Power BI, SQL to analyse and visualise data. Knowledge of Python/R.
  • An undergraduate qualification in an area such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
