Title: Deputy Director, Industry and Stakeholder Engagement
Summary
Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.
SRL is more than a rail project. It’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity to plan for and prepare our city and state to meet the needs of future Victorians, and we can’t do it alone. We are on the lookout for people with drive, expertise, fresh ideas and new perspectives to deliver Victoria’s biggest ever infrastructure project. You will be part of history in the making, and while we’re at it, we will be shaping your future too.
About the opportunity
As the Deputy Director, Industry and Stakeholder Engagement, you will lead a team responsible for Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) engagement with industry and government stakeholders, as well as SRLA’s mobile engagement and events program. You will bring these functions together to deliver a consistent, strategic and high-quality approach to external engagement that strengthens trust and understanding of the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL).
In this key leadership role, you will help shape SRLA’s reputation with key stakeholders. You will ensure SRLA’s engagement program across all stakeholders and channels is well planned, aligned with strategic priorities, shaping reputation, and supporting successful project delivery, and informed by strong intelligence and insights.
Working closely with colleagues across the Communications, Engagement and Community division, senior executives, ministerial officers, contractors and precinct engagement teams, you’ll ensure integrated, risk-aware and consistent engagement across SRLA’s networks. You will also oversee high-profile mobile engagement and events activity, ensuring these interactions support SRLA’s stakeholder and community narrative and provide high-quality experiences.
In this role you will contribute to capability uplift across the division, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing culture that reflects SRLA’s values and strengthens SRLA’s reputation and stakeholder relationships. As appropriate, you may also be required to provide support to other teams across SRLA, including participating in out of hours events and providing support for engagement and communications campaigns and other high priority projects, to contribute to the effective management of work across Communications, Engagement and Community.
