VIDA Roads is delivering a massive investment in the state’s roads.  We’re delivering major new road projects across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria while improving the roads people rely on every day.

 

The West Gate Tunnel Project will give Melbourne a second freeway link between the west and the city – providing a much-needed alternative to the West Gate Bridge and a vital second river crossing.

 

North East Link will fix the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network with new 6.5 km tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen. We’re also overhauling the Eastern Freeway and completing the M80 Ring Road at Greensborough.

 

Road Programs are also delivering dozens of new roads, bridges, road widening projects and major freeway upgrades.

  1. Setting the strategic direction for Records Management, Document Control and Information Governance to support efficient project delivery, improved ways of working, and effective handover at Final Completion.
  2. Leading organisational uplift in information management maturity through targeted education, enabling technology, and cultural change initiatives across VIDA Roads.
  3. Influencing and advising senior leaders and governance forums to embed information management, data quality and lifecycle considerations into decision making, business processes and project governance.
  4. Establishing and maintaining robust information governance and lifecycle management frameworks, covering data quality, standards, retention, privacy, compliance and risk management across structured and unstructured information.
  5. Ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations, including the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic), PROV Standards and Guidelines, and Protective Data Security requirements, supported by regular audit and continuous improvement activities to improve the alignment with the organisation’s legal and governance framework.

 

The Deputy Director Information Management provides strategic leadership across Records Management, Document Control, Data Governance and Information Lifecycle Management for VIDA Roads. The role is responsible for establishing fit for purpose information management practices that support project delivery in VIDA Roads, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and informed decision making.

 

 

This role will provide strong strategic leadership and will lead the Records and Document Control functions, drives consistent ways of working across programs and projects, and partners closely with corporate and delivery teams to embed strong information governance. The focus is on improving data quality, accessibility and reuse, strengthening compliance with legislative and government requirements, and enabling effective handover of information across the asset and project lifecycle.

 

This role will oversee the delivery of associated frameworks, policies, and procedures, undertaking corporate technical and cultural change management to ensure adoption of best practice. Your ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence behaviours is essential within this role to ensure adoption of best practice. Furthermore, this role will interface with VIDA Services to ensure the Information Security service provides the relevant services to VIDA Roads as Information Security continues to be identified as an organisational strategic risk.

 

About You

 

  1. Significant experience in Information management leadership positions in the construction industry particularly, is highly desirable.
  2. Experience in the support and development of Records Management Systems and related policies in either private or public service environments.
  3. Experience in the implementation, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of Document Control platforms.

 

This is a 2 year maximum fixed term opportunity.
