About VIDA Health

VIDA Health (Victorian Health Building Authority) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government’s multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We’re delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria, including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VIDA Health also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, People and Capability, you’ll lead a talented team responsible for workforce planning and insights, talent, development, culture and employee experience across VIDA Health.

It’s a role with real breadth. You’ll help us understand what our workforce needs to look like in the future, strengthen how we attract and retain great people, and create experiences that support employees from the moment they join VIDA Health and throughout their career with us.

Data and insights will be an important part of how you work. Whether it’s workforce trends, employee feedback or emerging capability needs, you’ll help turn information into practical actions that leaders can use to make better people decisions.

You’ll also be a trusted adviser to the Director, People and Capability and executive leaders, bringing together strategic thinking, sound judgement and a genuine understanding of what creates a positive employee experience.

This is an opportunity to influence the people agenda at an exciting time for VIDA Health and help build the workforce and culture we need to deliver some of Victoria’s most significant health infrastructure projects.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading and developing the Workforce, Talent and Development team, creating a collaborative environment where people can thrive and deliver great outcomes.
  • Helping VIDA Health look ahead by using workforce trends, data and employee feedback to identify emerging needs and turn insights into meaningful action.
  • Shaping how we attract, grow and retain great people, including our approach to talent attraction, graduate talent, succession and critical capability.
  • Creating a positive and consistent employee experience through initiatives spanning onboarding, recognition, engagement, wellbeing, culture and development.
  • Partnering with leaders across the organisation, bringing practical ideas, constructive challenge and credible people advice to important workforce decisions.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced and engaging people leader who enjoys developing others and bringing teams together around a shared purpose.
  • Is comfortable working with workforce data and insights and, importantly, knows how to turn them into a clear story and practical action.
  • Brings strong experience across talent and workforce initiatives and understands what it takes to attract, develop and retain people in a complex organisation.
  • Has a genuine interest in employee experience and culture and can translate that into initiatives that make a meaningful difference for employees.
  • Builds trusted relationships easily and can work confidently with executives, senior leaders and stakeholders across an organisation.
  • Combines strategic thinking with a willingness to get involved, solve problems and turn ideas into outcomes.
  • Leads with integrity and contributes to an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing culture.

A relevant tertiary qualification in human resources or a related discipline is highly desirable. Extensive equivalent experience in senior people leadership will also be considered.
