About VHBA   

The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.  

 

 

The Opportunity 

In this new exciting position, you will have the opportunity to lead organisational governance at the Victorian Health Building Authority to support the delivery of multi-billion-dollar health infrastructure program. The role will establish and oversee governance frameworks that enable efficient decision-making and uphold the highest standards of public administration. The successful candidate will build and lead a new team and work closely with senior leaders across VHBA!  

 

 

Key aspects of the role include: 

  • Contribute to divisional leadership by managing a key function within VHBA. Act as a trusted, collaborative peer and demonstrate a whole-of-organisation commitment to VIDA Health’s vision and values. 

  • Promote adaptive thinking and drive continuous improvement to create a high-performing team by ensuring staff have the tools and support they need to reach their potential while contributing to organisational and system outcomes. 

  • Oversee VIDA Health’s corporate planning processes and support its contributions to VIDA-wide reporting, including the Annual Plan. 

 

We are looking for:  

  • Proven ability to foster a positive culture and lead high-performing teams, proactively addressing issues while sustaining a strong focus on capability and career development. 

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic advice to senior leaders, identify emerging risks, assess their implications, and develop proactive system- and organisation-wide strategies to address them. 

  • Strong practical understanding of public administration and government decision-making, with a proven record of delivering clear, authoritative and effective advice to senior decision-makers on complex, politically sensitive issues.
