About VIDA Health
VIDA Health (Victorian Health Building Authority) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VIDA Health also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity
As the Director, SEC Programs you will provide senior executive leadership across a major portfolio of health capital works, leading the delivery of critical infrastructure outcomes that support Victoria’s health system. The role is responsible for defining business strategies and organisational policies to enable the coordinated delivery of complex, multi‑agency capital programs.
You will embed best‑practice capital project and program delivery frameworks to strengthen health agency capability, driving greater efficiency, consistency and high‑quality outcomes across the planning, delivery and operation of health infrastructure.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Lead continuous monitoring and improvement of health capital program delivery, driving efficiency across financial management, cashflow forecasting, risk and resource planning, governance, benefits realisation, and quality and impact outcomes.
- Provide high‑quality advice, reports and briefs to Senior Executives, the Minister, health agencies and system partners on strategic capital delivery matters, including innovative and sustainable health infrastructure and operational practices.
- Provide visible, values‑based leadership, leading, coaching and engaging a high‑performing workforce aligned with VIDA Health’s vision and delivery objectives.
We are looking for:
- Demonstrated senior executive leadership and political acumen to lead complex health capital programs, manage risk, oversee performance and influence senior stakeholders to deliver successful health infrastructure outcomes.
- Strategic capability to formulate and drive effective courses of action through a deep, enterprise‑wide understanding of health systems, capital investment and government decision‑making environments.
- Proven ability to develop and execute long‑term, complex and multi‑phased strategies to influence outcomes, build strong internal and external stakeholder support, and negotiate effectively across government and health sector partners.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant government legislation, supported by senior‑level experience managing large‑scale capital, asset, property and financial management functions, preferably within health or social infrastructure portfolios.
