About VHBA
The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity
As the Director Project Engagement and Communications you will provide leadership across a major portfolio of health projects that supports local communities across the state. You will take part in setting up the strategic direction for stakeholder engagement and integrated communications across the full project lifecycle, leading high-performing teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this position we are looking for a strategic and hands-on leader to build strong matrix partnerships, allocate resources across competing priorities, and embed organisational change. This position will also be a trusted adviser to senior executives and ministers, anticipate issues, manage risk, and deliver clear, confident advice on high-profile projects.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Proactively manage stakeholder issues, risks and opportunities across the portfolio, ensuring timely, coordinated and effective responses.
- Set strategic direction for engagement and communications across the full project lifecycle, applying best-practice tools and tactics.
- Drive proactive communications opportunities to position major health infrastructure initiatives with communities, government and Ministerial offices.
We are looking for:
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through ambiguity and organisational change, bringing people on the journey while delivering results under pressure.
- Experience delivering large, complex projects to deadlines, including providing surge support during peak periods while maintaining high standards.
- Ability to think strategically across multiple projects, anticipating challenges and opportunities to align engagement with organisational and government priorities.
