About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position (until 13th July 2027)

The Director leads the development of Victoria’s future transport pipeline and long-term network planning. They guide a team to identify, prioritise and coordinate major transport projects, while providing expert advice to senior leaders, Ministers and government partners. The role works closely with delivery agencies, industry, local councils and communities to shape investment decisions and support project development. Success in this role helps deliver a sustainable, connected and efficient transport network for Victoria, strengthens industry capability, and ensures government priorities and infrastructure outcomes are achieved over the short and long term.

You’re someone who:

  • Enjoys leading complex transport and infrastructure projects that shape Victoria’s future network and communities.
  • Can build strong relationships and confidently work with senior stakeholders across government, industry and the private sector.
  • Can provide strategic advice and make informed decisions by understanding transport planning, project development and broader economic and political trends.
  • Can negotiate, influence and work collaboratively to resolve complex issues and deliver practical outcomes.
  • Can use industry knowledge, research and networks to identify opportunities, gather insights and support long-term transport planning and investment decisions.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A Tertiary Degree in relevant field. (desirable)

 

Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
