About the role 

This is a rare opportunity to lead ticketing operations at scale across Victoria’s public transport network. Reporting to the Executive Director, Public Transport Ticketing, you will oversee the operation and delivery of myki and contactless ticketing products, services and systems used by millions of passengers.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for contractual oversight, governance and operational performance in a complex, 24/7 outsourced delivery environment. With two ticketing systems operating in parallel during a major transition phase, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to provide stability for staff, negate disruption to the delivery of operational services, uphold system performance requirements and deliver on customer outcomes as set out in the Victorian fares terms and conditions.. Success in this role will directly shape the future of public transport ticketing in Victoria

You’re someone who: 

  • Enjoys leading, complex large-scale operational environments and driving performance
  • Can establish and foster strong partnerships with suppliers and senior stakeholders across government and industry
  • Thinks strategically and can quickly grasp technical and contractual nuances
  • Leads high-performing teams through change, ambiguity and system transition
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, providing trusted advice at executive level

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in operations, service delivery or contract management within a complex environment
  • Experience overseeing outsourced service providers and managing performance against KPIs
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capability across government, private sector and supplier environments
  • Experience in mass transport, ticketing, payments, large-scale technology or infrastructure operations (highly regarded)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in technology management, business, engineering or a related discipline (highly regarded)

This role requires you to be based in Victoria.
