About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position (Executive contract up to 5 years)

The Director Spatial Services leads the delivery of data, digital and spatial services that support transport and planning outcomes across the Department. The role oversees specialist teams delivering spatial analysis, 3D modelling, visualisation, and spatial data management, ensuring services are high quality, sustainable, and aligned with organisational priorities.

The role provides strategic leadership, drives innovation and continuous improvement, and manages governance, risk, finance, procurement, and workforce planning. It builds strong stakeholder partnerships, provides expert advice to senior leaders, leads change initiatives, and fosters a safe, inclusive, and high-performing team culture to support effective service delivery.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

• Demonstrated, constructive, and successful impact at an executive leadership level (mandatory).
• Proven experience managing diverse stakeholders and providing authoritative, timely advice and recommendations (mandatory).
• A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent professional experience.

Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
