About the role
This is a Fixed Term Position (Executive Contract up to 5 years).
Lead the delivery of Victoria’s most significant planning assessments, approvals and reforms, shaping major projects, investment outcomes and the future of the State’s planning system.
As Executive Director, you will oversee statutory planning assessments, environmental approvals and planning pathways for priority State projects. You will work closely with senior government leaders, industry and community stakeholders to enable timely, high-quality and defensible decisions that balance economic, environmental and community outcome

- Leads large, multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, high-impact outcome
- Provides authoritative advice on planning, policy and regulatory matters at executive level
- Drives reform and continuous improvement across planning systems and processes
- Influences senior stakeholders across government, industry and community
- Navigates complex legislative, political and organisational environments with confidence

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Extensive senior leadership experience in planning, infrastructure or environment sectors
- Proven delivery of complex planning approvals, reforms or major projects
- Strong experience advising executives, Ministers or boards on complex issues
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and drive organisational performance
- Tertiary qualification in planning, public policy or related discipline
