About the Role
This is a fixed term 5 year SES 2 contract
The Executive Director, Road Maintenance Operations is a senior leadership role within the Transport Services Division. Responsible for overseeing the state-wide delivery of road maintenance programs, including bridges and structures, representing an investment of nearly $1 billion. The role ensures that all programs are delivered to scope, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality, in line with the Victorian Road Management Plan under the delegation of the Head, Transport for Victoria.
This role develops and implements organisation-wide strategies to drive delivery excellence across road maintenance operations, ensuring alignment with broader departmental priorities and performance expectations. The role provides strategic oversight of the road maintenance program’s development and implementation, ensuring delivery to scope, time and quality. It also supports the application of financial and commercial frameworks, monitors performance and compliance and informs high-level decisions relating to business cases, contracts and service delivery arrangements. The Executive Director also promotes and leads the delivery of large-scale, high-impact projects, strategically deploying resources, anticipating and mitigating risks, and ensuring value-driven outcomes. This role is responsible for representing the Department and communicating the road maintenance program through media interviews, public forums and stakeholder events as required. Success in the role depends on a strong focus on delivery excellence, combined with strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to build trusted relationships with local councils, industry partners, ministerial offices and community stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Degree qualification in relevent discipline, such as Project Management
- Experience in the delivery of infrastructure capital works
